Picayune Boys Team Wins Fourth Consecutive to Make Playoffs

Due to poor field conditions at Hancock High School, the Hawks visited
Picayune once again on Saturday. The Tide pulled out a 3-1 victory and
a berth in the state playoffs.

Britton Fortenberry scored off a free kick in the 14th minute and added

another in the 50th minute with the run of play. Fortenberry assisted Mitchell

Jacobs in the 62nd minute for the third goal.

A Tide defensive error allowed the Hawks to score and avoid the shutout.

By winning their fourth consecutive game, the Tide finishes the regular season

at 10-7-2 and are Division 5 District 8 runner up.   The Maroon Tide will travel

to Vicksburg on Tuesday January 25th to  play the Division 6 champion

Vicksburg High School.  Kick off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m., the Tide will

leave Picayune Memorial High School on a charter bus at 12:30 p.m.

Seats are available for parents and team supporters.
