With the Diamondbackers booster club serving up Black Pot
Jambalaya and the grill full of sausage dogs, one could only
expect the action to be hot as Picayune hosted Pearl River
Central. The recipe turned out to be just that as the Lady
Tide pushed across the winning run in extra innings to pull
out a 4-3 win at the Lady Tide softball complex..
The Lady Tide held the Lady Devils scoreless in the opening
inning and scored their own run to go ahead early 1-0.
With two outs Breonne Spikes and Cassie Rabion both
drew walks and Spikes scored on a hit by Allison Bynum
that was misplayed by the 3rd baseman.
Picayune scored again in the third when Courtney Dickens
reached base safely on a bunt and following an out moved t
o second. Spikes walked and eventually scored on two passed balls.

The Lady Devils scored one run in the 4th as Virginia
Blanchet walked, advanced to second on a bunt, moved
to third on a wild pitch and scored by a passed ball. The
Devils knotted the game at 2-2 when a base runner reached
on an error, was bunted to second and scored on a base knock.
