Carey Meitzler
Background
He is a 1978 graduate of Picayune Memorial High School where he lettered in baseball and basketball. He received a
baseball scholarship to William Carey College in Hattiesburg , MS, where he played under John Stephenson and Bobby
Halford. In 1982, he received his B.S. degree in Business Data Processing. He has worked in the computer industry
since 1982 and is the Director of Business Services for Information Technology for Superior Energy Services.
Carey and his wife, Michelle, a 1982 PMHS graduate, have three children: Dale, Caleb, and Brooke.

Mentor
His parents Clyde and Lois Meitzler (both deceased) for their guidance and instilling a
strong work ethic in him at an early age. His mother never missed a Tide broadcast before her death in 2010.

Sportcasters
Carey would rather listen to a broadcast from one of his favorite announcers than watch a game on television.
Carey's favorite announcers are Larry Munson (former Georgia Bulldogs), Jack Cristil (Mississippi State Bulldogs),
and John Ward (former Tennessee Volunteers) He grew up listening to Stan Torgersen (late 60s and
early 70s) calling Ole Miss games well before television broadcasts became so common.
Athlete
His favorite athlete of all time is the famous red-head from Drew, MS. named Archie Manning.
