Boys and Girls place 2nd in South State

Submitted by Coach Jerry Todd

Picayune Boys and Girls both finished 2nd at the 5A South State Track

Meet this past Saturday at Long Beach.

Coach Feaster said about the meet," The boys stepped up and

performed great today. We qualified who we thought we should."

Coach Todd stated about the girls, "We qualified in 10 events,

I thought we might get 11 or 12 qualified for the state meet but

we still had a good day except for Jasmine hurting her hamstring

again. She hurt it running the 4x1 relay and could not run her best

race, the 400, which is the next race after the 4x1 relay. Jazz is

the 2 time defending state champ in the 400 (with the 10th best

time in the nation) and the triple jump. Hopefully, her hamstring

is not bad enough to keep her from running at the state meet."
