Boys & Girls take 2nd at Regional

Submitted Coach Jerry Todd

Long Beach--  Both the Boys and Girls track teams took 2nd place at the

Regional Track & Field Meet at Long Beach. The Lady Tide will have 17 entries

at the South State Meet while the boys qualified 14.  The top 4 places at South

State will qualify for the State Meet at Pearl High School .

" We were one (1) point ahead of Long Beach going into the last event, the 4x4

relay ,but I knew that we had to be 4 or 5 points ahead to win. But the main

thing is that we qualified a lot of people for South State and we ran some of

our best times of the season. T Myers ran her best in both of her hurdle races,

Jazz ran great in the 100 and her and Sarah Richard both had season best in the

triple jump. 7th grader Lacey Polderman is running good now in the 800. We

should hopefully qualify most of our girls for State, if things go right for us," stated

Girls Coach Jerry Todd.

Boys Coach John Feaster said about the meet, " We had some good efforts and

performances and qualified in a good many events but we were disappointed that

our 4x1 relay did not make it."
