Nokia Sugar Bowl meet (at Tad Gormley Stadium)

New Orleans-- The Picayune Girls track team finished 4th out of the 27 teams competing in the Nokia Sugar

Bowl track meet held at Tad Gormley Stadium in New Orleans..

"These are some of the best teams from all over Mississippi, Louisiana, Alabama, and Tennessee, "  stated

Coach Jerry Todd.


Jasmine Ducre had another outstanding meet by finishing 2nd in the 400, 3rd in the 100 and the triple jump

as well as running on the 4x1 relay that finished 4th. Also running the 4x1 relay were Sarah Richard, Tee Myers,

and Kymetria Jackson.  Clarissa Jones was 2nd in the discus and Sahara Wilson took 6th out of 38 throwers.


Tee Myers was 12th in the 100 hurdles out of 31 runners and 8th in the 300 hurdles out of 35 runners.


The Picayune boys were led by the 4x1 relay consisting of Ken Breland, Dalvin Acker, Doug Cross, and

Desmond Taylor finished 3rd as well as the 4x2 relay that took 3rd also.

The relay team of Breland,Coren Nixon,Taylor, and Acker has the fastest time in the state of Mississippi right

now.

Coren Nixon finished 6th in the 100 out of 59 runners and Ken Breland took 5th in the 200 out of 61 runners.

Tony Washington was 8th in the 400 out of 58 runners. Daveon Green took 11th out of 33 hurdlers in the 110 hurdles.

Next is the Long Beach Invitational Thursday, March 29th.
This Friday is the Picayune Elemenary Track Meet starting at 6:00.
