Lady Tide takes 2nd place at Gulfport's Gaston Hewes Relays

Gulfport--Jasmine Ducre was named the Outstanding Female Athlete of the Gulfport Gaston Hewes Relays

Saturday.   Ducree won the triple jump at 36'1 1/2"(best in the state)100 moter dash( best in the state) and

400 meter dash in a 54.89 time( school record time andmbest in the state and 5th nationally). Ducree also

ran on the 4x1 relay that took 3rd place.

"I really felt like we would have won this if we had not had a bad handoff," Coach Todd stated.

Tee Myers also had a good meet winning both the 100 hurdles (personal best 15.7) and 300 hurdles as well

as running a leg on the 4x1 relay.


Yanni Wills was 2nd in the shot put with a personal best, Clarissa Jones 2nd in the discus,

Sahara Wilson-4th in the discus Charlotte Shoemake 7th in the 800, Sarah Richard 7th in the 200.


"Every girl who ran Saturday ran a seasonal or personal best." Todd said.

The boys had several good performances with the 4x2 relay running the fastest time in the state at 1:29.4.

Dalvin Acker, Ken Breland, Coren Nixon, and Des Taylor easily took first.

The 4x1 relay of Acker, Breland, Talyor and Doug Cross took second after getting nipped at the finish line.

Jake Polderman won the 800 in a presonal best, Coren Nixon took second in the 100, Ken Breland
second in the 200.


Tony Washington won the 400 in school record time 48.59 Best in the state)


Daveon Greene was 6th in the 110 hurdles.

Picayune will run in the Nokia Sugar Bowl Track Meet at Tad Gormley Stadium in New Orleans
Friday March 23rd and Saturday March 24th.
