Sarah Dodd signs with Mississippi Gulf Coast CC (Details) Jr High wins Conference Championship (Details) Mitchell believes team is ready for District play The countdown is over and the second season starts Tuesday for the Lady Tide. The start of district play begins as the Lady Maroon Tide will host Stone County in the first division game of the season. The division is small this season and is composed of Picayune, Stone County and Pearl River Central. The Tide enters division play with a 7-6-1 record. "We have been on a roller coaster ride much of this season. There have been days where we have played at the top of our game and days where we were scraping the bottom of the barrel. One thing is for certain though, we have been battled tested. I feel like we have experienced most emotions already that you usually experience throughout an entire season. Hopefully our mindset will allow us to attack our limitations and grow our weaknesses into strengths", said Mitchell on the eve of Picayune's district opener with Stone County. The Lady Tide is still working toward playing a complete game in all three key phases of the game. The key is getting the pitching, defense and offense all working on the same day. "The most important thing is to get better each game and prepare ourselves for the stiff competition we will face in the playoffs. Playing this game is not like turning a light switch on and off. You have to be on all the time and bring your "A" game. We know every team is going to give us their best so we must be prepared each game to give our best", stated Mitchell.
