Picayune-The Picayune Maroon Tide cruised to their second Region 4-5A win with a 56-14 homecoming
victory over West Harrison at Lee-Triplett Stadium. The win pushes Picayune's overall record to 5-1 and
2-0 in region play.
Brian Taylor partially blocked a West Harrison punt on the first possession of the game and Picayune took
over at the Hurricane 26. Shaun Anderson scored 4 plays later on a 5 yard run for a 7-0 lead after Sam
Nagi's extra point with 8:50 left in the first quarter.

Picayune got the ball again deep in West Harrison territory when the Hurricanes had a bad snap on a punt and
Rashard Johnson pounced on the loose ball at the West Harrison 17. Anderson scored two plays later on
another 5 yard run to push it 14-0.
Picayune built a 42-14 halftime lead getting touchdowns from Brian Taylor (19 yard run), Jaurice Travis (5 yard
run and 1 yard run), and Tyler Penton (1 yard run). Penton also threw three passes completing all three; a 59
yarder to Elijah Burton, a 33 yarder to Ronald Polk, and a 59 yarder to Peyton Esslinger. West Harrison's
touchdowns came on an 11 yard pass from Dayln Anderson to Darrian Brown and a 29 yard run by Joel
Washington. The Maroon Tide points in the second half came on a 1 yard run by Anderson and a 34 yard
run by Travis. Nagi was perfect on the night on his extra points (8 for 8). Anderson finished with 15 rushes
for 123 yards and Travis added 89 yards on 12 carries.
Picayune will travel to play Stone next Friday at A.L. May Stadium on the campus of Mississippi Gulf Coast
