Maroon Tide Snags Jags 32-22

Picayune--The Picayune Maroon Tide collected their second win in as many weeks with a 32-22 win over the Madison Central
Jaguarsat Tide Stadium.
Picayune scored on their first possession on a 37 yard field goal by Nick Riso with 7:24 left on the clock. On the Jaguars' first
play from scrimmage, a lateral behind the line of scrimmage was scooped up by Jarrod Jones and he raced to the 13 yard line.
On the next play, Reginald Bailey rumbled in for the touchdown and Riso's point after made it 10-0 with 6:42 left.
Madison Central's next possession ended when Wayne McMooain intercepted Jaguar quarterback Peyton Johnson' pass at
the Tide's five yard line and returned it out to the 26. Picayune missed a field goal when their drive stalled at the Jaguar 12 yard
line.

The Jaguars cut the lead to 10-7 on their next possession on fullback Michael Johnson's 42 yard touchdown run. Mitch Huff
added to point after with 8:31 left in the second quarter.
After the Madison Central kickoff, Picayune drove the length of the field only to fumble the ball in the end zone that resulted in
a touchback. The Jaguars were forced into a punting situation from their own 41 yard line and attempted a fake punt that
gave the ball to the Maroon Tide at the 50 yard line.
Sophomore running back Jamal Hall came into the game and carried the ball five times in a six play drive, the last carry resulted
in a 15 yard touchdown run with 1:25 left before halftime. A bad snap washed away the point after attempt that left the score
at 16-7.

Madison Central opened the third quarter with a 9 play 95 yard drive with the Michael Johnson scoring from 12 yards out.
Huff's extra point made it 16-14 with 9:26 left.
Picayune responded with a 12 play 77 yard drive. Picayune's touchdown came on a 7 yard pass from Jacob Kennedy to
Gabe Hinojosa with 1:54 left. The two point conversion failed.
The Jaguars returned the ensuing kickoff to the Tide 35 yard line. Five plays later, Demarco Taylor scored from 2 yards out.
Quarterback Peyton Johnson passed to Will Bryan for the two point conversion to tie the game at 22-22 with 11:56 left in
the game.
Picayune put together a 13 play drive moving the ball from their own 21 to the Jaguar 23 where Nick Riso kicked a 40 yard
field goal to give Picayune a 25-22 lead with 4:45 left.
Madison Central turned the ball over on downs at their 21 yard line and Picayune put the game away on Kennedy's 14 yard
touchdown pass to Reginald Bailey with 2:51 left. Riso's point after made it 32-22.

Picayune rushed the ball 53 times for 353 yards. Hall rushed for 146 yards on 21 carries. T'Darryl Grays
had 5 rushes for 93 yards. Hinojosa had 50 yards on 7 totes. Jacob Kennedy completed 7 of 11 passes
for 79 yards and two touchdowns.
Peyton Johnson rushed for 89 yards on 10 carries. He completed 12 of 24 passes for 104 yards and two
interceptions.
Picayune (2-0) will travel to Oak Grove next week for a 7:30pm kickoff.
