Lady Tide wins; Boys fall to St Patrick

Picayune-  Picayune's Lady Tide trounced St Patrick 57-34 to record their 10th win of the year while the Maroon Tide

fell 60-58 to St Patrick in the boys game at the Picayune Christmas Invitational being played at Kelly Wise Memorial

Gymnasium.

The Lady Tide 13 points from Arianna McGill and nine each from Andrea Jackson & Keanna Magee to move the record

to 10-4.  Johnda Boyd paced the Lady Irish (5-12) with 12 points.

St Patrick  60   Maroon Tide 58

Picayune trailed 34-30 entering the fourth quarter and took the lead at 42-41 on a Vincent Gable three pointer with just

over three minutes left, but the lead didn't last long as Daniel Grieves answered with a three ball with 2:57 left to give

St Patrick the lead for good as they held on for a 60-58 win over the Maroon Tide.

Grieves, a 6 foot 6 inch junior, paced the Irish with 25 points that included 18 of 19 free throw shooting.  His brother Jackson

Grieves added 16 points and Tyler Magondy had 13 points off the bench for St Patrick (8-5).

Picayune's senior guard Vince Gable had 17 points including three 3-pointers.  Scotty Merrill added 11 points while Marcus

Rawls had 11 points and 10 rebounds. Derionne Stewart scored 7 points and pulled down 8 rebounds while Jamal Hall finished

with 7 points as well for the Maroon Tide (6-7).
