Archery: (2017 Schedule)

Picayune Archery wins 4th Straight South State (Details)

Monday: Picayune defeats Poplarville

In their final home match of the season on Monday, the Tide Archery team

defeated Poplarville by a score of 3192 – 2962. Harold Gallo was the leading

scorer of the match as he posted a score of 285, the team’s highest individual

score of the season. He was followed by Gavin Mitchell (272), Quinton

Fenstermacher (263), and Caleb Davis (261).  The girls were led by Courney

Borchert as she posted a score of 275.  She was followed by Sarah Smith (267),

Jadyn Crosby (266), and Jordan Barrack (263).  The remaining shooters whose

scores counted toward the team total were Kate Spiers (262), Madyson

Canulette (261), Alexis Windham (259), and Melvin Taylor (258).

The team’s final regular season match will be Tuesday, April 4 at Hancock.

The Blue Devils scored the winning run with two outs on a

Picayune fielding error.  Rigel Robinson went the distance to the get

win for the Blue Devils.  Eli Lee had 3 hits  for Pearl River Central and

Trenton Lee had 2 hits for Picayune and Jacob Brumley had 2 RBIs.

The two teams will play again on Friday at Picayune.

FastPitch(2017 Varsity Schedule(Softball Twitter)

Monday: Picayune 11  Poplarville 0

Picayune defeated Poplarville by a score of 11-0 in non-district

action Monday.  Megan Dudenhefer earned the win striking

out 12 and only allowing one runner to reach base via a hit by pitch. 

The Maroon Tide collected 11 hits lead by Jessica Magee and

Devin Frierson with two each.  Alyssa Pinero, Megan Dudenhefer, Elizabeth Taggard, Poppy McDonald, Dee Cunningham, Madyson Turnage, and Lexie Picou each collected one hit. 

Wednesday:  Hattiesburg at Picayune
